The Pre-Sale Makeover Timeline — What Four Weeks Actually Looks Like

Add Value Makeover · Auckland · Updated June 2026

"Four weeks" only reassures if you can see how it's spent. Here's the week-by-week programme we run, so you know exactly what's happening on your home and when it's photo-ready.

Before we lift a brush

Three quick steps get you a price and a date, usually within a couple of days: an instant online estimate, a free walk-through to scope what actually adds value, then a fixed quote and a locked start-to-finish date. Approve it and we book your weeks in.

Week 1 — Repair & make-good

We fix everything that makes a buyer hesitate, before anything gets painted — cracks, leaks, rot, sticky doors and windows, surface prep. Sound house first, pretty house second.

Week 2 — Interior paint & refresh

Walls, ceilings, trim and doors sprayed and rolled in a fresh, neutral palette — plus kitchen and bathroom resurfacing where it lifts value. This is the week the home starts to feel new.

Week 3 — Exterior paint

Weatherboards or render, joinery, eaves and the front door — the kerb appeal that decides whether buyers even walk inside.

Week 4 — Final fit-off

Handles, fixtures, splashbacks, seals and finishing touches go on. Then we clean, snag and hand the house back, photo-ready for your listing shoot.

How we move this fast

  • Fast-cure spray finishes that dry in hours, so we recoat the same day and never lose time waiting for paint.
  • One scheduled crew — repair, paint and fit-off run as one continuous plan under one project manager. The next stage starts the day the last finishes.
  • A fixed scope and price up front, so there's no mid-job re-pricing or waiting on decisions.

The 1-Week Quick Tidy

Not every home needs the full programme. If yours just needs freshening before the photos, the 1-Week Quick Tidy covers touch-up interior painting, an exterior soft-wash, and a declutter-and-clean — listing-ready in about a week. Bigger jobs, including the kitchen and bathroom freshen-up, sit inside the four-week whole-house makeover.

In short

Week 1 repair, Week 2 interior paint and kitchen/bathroom, Week 3 exterior paint, Week 4 fit-off and handover — about four weeks, one crew, one fixed price. Need just a freshen-up? The 1-Week Quick Tidy — touch-up paint, exterior wash and a clean-up — is about a week.

Common questions

Good to know before you start

How long does a pre-sale makeover take?

About four weeks for the whole-house makeover, which includes the kitchen and bathroom freshen-up. If your home just needs freshening, the 1-Week Quick Tidy — touch-up painting, an exterior wash and a clean-up — is about a week. You get a locked finish date before we start.

How can you do a renovation in four weeks?

Speed comes from fast-cure spray finishes that dry in hours and one scheduled crew running repair, paint and fit-off back-to-back under one project manager — clever kit and tight systems, not cut corners.

What if it runs over?

The date is locked at quote stage. Because the scope and price are fixed up front and one crew runs the whole job, there's nothing waiting on separate trades to slip.

no obligation, promise!
